Homeowners and buyers are increasingly concerned about the health effects of mold as the issue continues to receive significant media attention. As is often the case, increased concern gives rise to misinformation and confusion about the nature and effects of mold.

The Edifice team is certified by the Environmental Solutions Association (ESA) to detect mold and
precursors that may indicating the existence of mold. At the same time, we educate our clients about mold and mold-related health issues so that you can make informed decisions.

Screening for mold and
it’s precursors is a routine
part of our inspections.
If signs of mold, or the
conditions that give rise
to mold growth are noted
during the inspection,
your inspector will make
appropriate
recommendations for
additional testing.

Radon is a cancer-causing,
naturally occurring radioactive
gas that comes up through
the soil and enters homes. You
cannot see, smell or taste radon
gas. The only way to know if it is
in your home is to have it tested.

The U.S. Surgeon General
estimates that 20,000 Americans
die of radon-related lung cancer each year and it is the second-leading cause of the disease in the United States, behind smoking. According to the World Health Organization, radon causes 15% of the cases of lung cancer worldwide. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends radon testing for all homes.

Whether you are purchasing a home or already own one, you should have the house tested for elevated radon levels. Edifice Inspections will test houses for radon, either as part of a home inspection or as a stand-alone service. Contact us today to book your radon test for peace of mind and to protect you and your family’s health.
